Frequently Asked Questions

We know you have questions and here you can find all the answers.

Is the ceremony and reception going to be at the same location?

Yes, both the ceremony and reception lunch will be held at the Hart House Restaurant in Burnaby.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

If it is good weather, the ceremony will be outdoors on the lawn. We will have blankets but you should bring a jacket! If the weather does not cooperate, the ceremony will be held upstairs in the Rosedale Room. The reception, regardless of the weather, will be held in the main restaurant.

How can I get to the Hart House Restaurant?

Here are the options to get to the venue:

  • Driving/Car Share — the Hart House is located close to Canada Way and Kensington Avenue in Burnaby, BC. If you are travelling on Highway 1 it is just off the Kensington Avenue exit. There is free parking at the venue.
  • Public Transit — The venue is close to bus stops on the following routes: 144 (from Sperling Station or Metrotown Station), 133 (from Edmonds Station or Holdom Station), or 123 (from New West Station or Brentwood Station)

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please indicate your attendance before February 1, 2023 as we will need to confirm numbers with our venue.

Can I bring a date? Is my child invited?

Your invite will list everyone who is invited, including any +1s. We have chosen for our wedding day to be an adult-only occasion. We hope this advance notice means you are still able to share our big day. Thank you for your understanding.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony and reception?

We have a fantastic photographer who will be capturing photos during the ceremony. We ask that photos are not taken during this time. Feel free to take photographs and videos during the reception (and share them with us afterwards!)

How will food and drinks be served?

The reception lunch will be a buffet. Wine will be served and each person will also receive one (1) complimentary drink ticket for beer, cider, hi ball, cocktail, mocktail, liqueur or martini. Sparkling water, pop and juice is also available.

What if I have food allergies or a dietary restriction?

You can let us know your dietary restrictions or allergies in the RSVP form.

What is the dress code?

The dress code is semi-formal.

Will there be dancing?

Due to time limits there will not be dancing at our wedding (except for a short first dance!).

Do you have a gift registry?

We have been living together for a few years and are lucky to have a home full of items. Your presence at our special day is what matters most to us. If you would like to contribute to our honeymoon fund or future home purchases, cash is preferred.

Are there COVID-19 requirements for attending the wedding?

We would highly recommend for each guest to self-administer a COVID-19 rapid test before attending the wedding, as we will have guests who are immunocompromised or who live with someone who is immunocompromised. If you happen to become sick (with any illness) or test positive for COVID-19 right before the wedding, please contact Alex or Michelle.

Where are you going on your honeymoon?

The answer will be revealed at the wedding. Stay tuned 🙂
